Dr. Amanda Hanna

Our veterinarian, Dr. Amanda Hanna, has served as the Chief Medical Director for Houston Pets Alive! since 2018. Dr. Hanna graduated summa cum laude in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston, and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 from Texas A&M. She specializes in high quality, high volume spay and neuter. She honed her surgical skills through significant volunteer and contract work with BARC, Houston Humane Society, and in general practice. Dr. Hanna enjoys working at various shelters and clinics to maintain her skills at the highest level, and strives to learn more about best practices in veterinary medicine by regularly attending veterinary conferences and workshops. In addition to her role as chief veterinarian at HPA!, she is a regular participant at the Empty the Shelter Project in Houston, and plans to travel abroad as a volunteer vet for spay/neuter projects in low-income developing countries. She lives in Houston with her husband, along with two dogs and four cats, all rescues.
