Barktoberfest is Houston Pets Alive!’s annual dog-friendly festival — think vendors, a Pacifico beer garden, a silent auction, a dog costume contest, and live music. Every bit of it benefits homeless pets right here in Houston.
Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Home Run Dugout. Doors open at 2 PM and the tail-wagging runs until 6 PM.
Barktoberfest takes place in Home Run Dugout’s outdoor area. Umbrellas will be out around the venue for some shade!
Barktoberfest is a rain-or-shine event, so come rain or shine, we’ll see you there!
Nope — admission is free! But we hope you’ll grab a ticket, since every purchase directly fuels Houston Pets Alive!’s mission to rescue and care for our city’s most at-risk pets.
We recommend grabbing yours in advance — our commemorative beer steins are limited, and they tend to go fast! Some tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.

Please purchase one costume contest ticket for each dog you plan to enter. We love coordinating costumes just as much as you do, but if you’re bringing multiple dogs—even as a matching duo or group—each dog must have its own contest entry.
There will be 4 costume contests held throughout the event. They will take place at 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30.
Each costume contest has 4 winners, taking home prizes valued at approximately $200, generously donated by our sponsors and local businesses!
