A deliberate act of vandalism has left Houston Pets Alive! without power and created an unexpected crisis for the animals who depend on us.

Late last night or early this morning, the power lines to our facility were intentionally cut, causing major damage and shutting down critical operations.

Since then, our team has been working hard to respond. Animals who should be receiving routine care need to be moved into emergency foster homes. Clinic services are disrupted. Refrigerated medical supplies and vaccines that are critical for our animals health were lost. We’re still suffering significant losses that will be costly to replace.

The financial impact of this event comes on top of the daily costs of saving pets. Every dollar we spend recovering from this emergency is a dollar we cannot spend rescuing more animals, providing medical care, or helping pets find homes.
