The Calls Keep Coming, Help Us Say Yes

Just days ago, we introduced you to Wynona, a sweet one-year-old cat rescued from the euthanasia list with a severe tail injury.

Since then, another cat named Hilton has reminded us of a difficult reality: Wynona’s story is not unique. Hilton, found outside a hotel and brought to a partner shelter with an injured eye, is sweet as pie despite everything she’s endured.

In the last two weeks alone, Houston Pets Alive! has taken in 65 cats and kittens and 27 dogs from 10 different partner shelters, many at immediate risk of euthanasia. Tiny orphaned kittens, injured animals, and vulnerable pets continue arriving every day, and what you see here is only a small glimpse of the need.

Your gift today helps provide lifesaving medical care and second chances for Hilton, Wynona, and the countless animals whose stories may never be shared.

Starting a monthly gift (even just $5!) helps us say yes in urgent situations like Wynona’s and Hilton’s. Make second chances possible by becoming a Paw Partner today and save the next at-risk pet in need.

Your Kindness Can Change Wynona's Future

At just one year old, Wynona found herself on the euthanasia list at a partner shelter with a horrific tail injury, underweight, and in heartbreaking condition. We don’t know exactly what happened to her or what her full treatment plan will look like, but one thing is certain: Wynona deserves a chance.

Despite everything she’s endured, she isn’t letting it change who she is.

She’s incredibly sweet, friendly, and affectionate. Instead of hiding away, Wynona leans in for pets and attention. Even while facing pain and uncertainty, all she wants is love.

Animals like Wynona are exactly why Houston Pets Alive! steps in when vulnerable pets have nowhere else to turn. We said yes to giving her a second chance, but rescue is only the beginning. Medical evaluations, treatment, surgery, medications, and whatever care Wynona needs next all require resources.

Your gift today ensures Wynona gets everything she needs as we determine the best path forward for her recovery. Beyond helping Wynona, your support helps us say “yes” to the next pet who runs out of time and options.

Wynona has already shown us her heart.

Will you show her yours?
