Houston Pets Alive! recently took in fifteen cats and kittens, including a devoted mother named Charlotte and her five tiny babies. All of them were suffering from ringworm—a word that might sound frightening but describes a very treatable fungal infection. What makes ringworm challenging isn’t the condition itself, but the care it requires: weeks or even months of isolation, daily cleaning, medication, and close monitoring.
Most under-resourced shelters don’t have the time, staff, or space to manage this kind of recovery.
Kittens like these are often euthanized as there simply aren’t enough resources to go around.
At Houston Pets Alive!, we believe these lives are worth saving, and with your help, we’re able to do it.
Your donation will help cover the cost of antifungal medications, medical exams, special cleaning supplies, food, litter, and the extra time and attention these vulnerable cats need.
If you’d like to go even further, consider becoming a monthly donor by joining our Paw Partners program. Monthly gifts allow us to respond quickly when animals need us most. Just $10 a month can help make saving at-risk animals possible, not just today, but every day.
Prefer to donate supplies instead? You can send items directly from our Amazon Wishlist to support their ongoing care.
These kittens didn’t ask to be born into this situation, but because of your compassion, they now have hope. Help us keep that hope alive.
