In just the last few days, HPA! welcomed a mom dog and her seven 12-day old puppies, nine puppies under two months old, and six more puppies already onsite at about two months old. That is 22 puppies plus their mom, in addition to all the other animals currently in our care. Saying yes was only possible because our community responded when we asked for help, stepping forward as fosters and ensuring these puppies are safe and receiving care today.
Providing lifesaving care comes at a real cost. On average, HPA! spends about $250 per puppy, more than $5,000 for these recent intakes alone, not including staff time, volunteer support, foster coordination, or ongoing medical needs. At the same time, we have taken in two cats who were on the euthanasia list due to severe leg injuries, one of whom will need an amputation that can cost up to one thousand dollars. This is what lifesaving work looks like at HPA!, and your support today helps cover immediate medical and care costs while ensuring we are ready to say yes to the next animal who needs help.
