While some animals arrive to us needing a loving home, others arrive to us needing everything. Within the last week, two senior dogs arrived in our care with conditions that make their life harder than it already is. Cloud and Possum need your help now.
Meet Cloud:
Cloud is a senior Maltese who came to us in really rough shape. He is emaciated, has severe dental disease and painful tooth root abscesses, is heartworm positive, needs to gain weight, and get healthier before he can even be neutered.
His mouth is in such bad shape that he can only eat specific soft foods right now.
He has a long road ahead of him, but for the first time in a long time, Cloud is safe. Now we have the chance to help him heal.
Then there’s Possum:
Possum is also a senior, and her condition tells us she had been struggling on her own for a very long time.
She has severe, generalized skin disease covering her entire body. Her skin is thickened, hardened, scaly and covered in heavy flaking. She has lost most of her fur, has open sores on her paw pads, painful ear disease, eye issues, and a suspected broken tail. Her nails were also so overgrown that the longest were about two inches long.
Right now, we can barely tell what Possum will look like when she’s healthy.
But beneath all the pain is a senior dog who deserves to feel comfortable again. We just need to give her a second chance.
Cloud and Possum don’t know what’s coming next, they only know that someone has finally said yes to them. Their medical needs are significant, and their recovery will take months. But that’s what we’re here for, and that’s where you come in.
Will you make a gift today to help Cloud, Possum, and the next animal who needs someone to say yes?
This lifesaving work never stops. We could not do any of this without your help. Your donations allow us to step in when partner shelters call and provide the medical care animals need.
Thank you for making second chances possible.
