When Houston Pets Alive! rescued Chai earlier this month, he was just three months old and already carrying the weight of severe illness. Chai was suffering from advanced demodex mange, coccidia (microscopic parasites), and intestinal worms. His mange was so advanced that his skin had “solidified,” making it painful for him to even sit or move.

We knew we couldn’t wait to help him.

Our team immediately began treatment, giving Chai medicated baths, urgent veterinary care, and of course, plenty of TLC. Slowly, his hardened skin began to heal, and he is now on his way to a full recovery. Despite all the pain he endured, Chai remained the sweetest boy throughout the process. Soon, he will be ready for the loving home he has always deserved.
