HPA! does not have dogs on site for casual viewing. Approved adopters will be contacted to schedule an appointment to meet the dog during our normal business hours.
Please note: An approved application does NOT guarantee you a specific dog/puppy, and dogs/puppies CANNOT be put on hold. We do not accept deposits for a specific dog/puppy.
How to adopt a dog:
Step One: Find the right dog for you
Scroll through our available pups below. Select a dog you’re interested in learning more about. You can click the “Apply for Adoption” button on that dog’s page and fill out the application, or if you need help finding the perfect pup for you, you can fill out the general dog application (button above). We will contact you within 24-48 hours of receiving your application. Completing an application neither guarantees nor binds you to an animal.
Step Two: Meet your potential new family member
Once your application is approved, you will receive an email from our Adoptions Team. If the puppy/dog you are interested in is available, our Adoptions Team will set up an appointment for you to visit the puppy/dog during our normal business hours.
Step Three: Fill out the contract and pay the adoption fee
Complete the adoption contract and pay the $199 adoption fee* (which covers spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, dewormer, microchip, and heart worm treatment if applicable). Please note that outdated adoption fees found on other websites cannot be honored.
Step Four: Take home your new best friend
Remember that it takes time for dogs to decompress and get used to their new environment! Be patient!
Send proof of a visit to your veterinarian within two weeks.
*Special discounted adoption fees include $100 for long-stay dogs, $100 for senior dogs, and $50 off for active/retired military personnel.*
