#GivingTuesday 2019

By donating to Houston Pets Alive! this #GivingTuesday, you are saving dogs’ lives from deadly heart worms, as well as preventing flea infestations on our animals!

THANK YOU!

This #GivingTuesday, HPA! invites you to join this global day of giving on December 3rd by donating to HPA! to help meet our ambitious fundraising goal of $30,000 in support of our heart worm treatment and flea prevention programs!

Heart worm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease caused by foot-long worms (heart worms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected pets, causing heart failure, severe lung disease, and damage to other organs in the body.*

Heart worm positive dogs are often overlooked at shelters, which can be a reason why they end up scheduled for euthanasia. Thus, because HPA! saves the pets that all others have passed over, a majority of the dogs in our program are heart worm positive. Further, HPA! will treat a heart worm positive dog, even after it has been adopted, at no cost to the adopter!

Fleas are a pervasive nuisance and we are always preventing fleas on our pets! Every single one of our cats and dogs receives a minimum of three flea prevention treatments in our program – thousands of treatments!

Both heart worm treatment and flea prevention cost HPA! about $30,000/year each – that’s a whopping $60,000/year total. With your generous support this #GivingTuesday, we can meet our goal of $30,000, which will cover these treatments and preventions for the first six months of 2020!

Can HPA!’s cats and dogs rely on you this #GivingTuesday?
